Let’s start by connecting in the heart with everyone participating in the Care Focus and radiating love and appreciation to each other.
This is a Time that’s Calling for More Kindness
Many countries have major elections coming up leading into the holiday season. The holidays are a time for joyful celebration and genuine warm-hearted connections and gratitude for family and friends. However, it’s understandable that people feel overwhelmed with what’s going on in the world at this time. Each day supplies streaming news that can create more fear or insecurity. The ongoing wars, higher prices for gas and food, AI going rogue and hacking into websites, and political leaders disdaining those with whom they don’t agree. It’s as though insult has become an acceptable norm. Articles describe how children are repeating demeaning words they hear on the news or from friends or family members. It’s as if kindness and the “golden rule” to treat others as you hope to be treated has lost its agency rating.
We have tremendous compassion for what millions of people are experiencing during these turbulent shifting times. Old energies are being released so that new heart energy and light can enter the planetary system. More of humanity is waking up to the need for heart, kindness, and compassionate care, and more are practicing how to interact harmoniously. Kindness starts with individuals and then energetically communicates itself to others.
It’s time to increase our personal practice of kindness, respect, and compassion, especially during today’s contentious dialogue. Increasing these heart feelings helps us maintain our energetic balance and health through the “off-the-chart” chaos going on due to fear, violence, and disconnection. Engaging in kind, caring, or compassionate actions releases a cascade of nervous system and hormonal responses that benefit our mental and emotional resilience and our physical health. We all could use this right now.
Note: In this Care Focus we’re often using the word kindness as a cover term for other heart feelings, such as care, compassion, respect, deeper listening, etc., rather than always naming each one.
Benefits of Increased Kindness and Heart Warmth
Increasing our kindness also has been shown to reduce levels of cortisol (the stress hormone) and stimulate dopamine (the reward and pleasure hormone) and serotonin (the mood stabilizer). It’s important to be genuine in our practice, because genuine adds the warmth to our heart connections. Studies have found when we do something kind for another, it activates what’s called “the helper’s high” by releasing endorphins, a pain-relieving hormone and immediate mood booster. In addition, kindness has been shown to strengthen the immune system’s ability to fight off illnesses.
One of the practices that people say they are benefitting most from is doing a news fast for a week (or more) out of a month. It can be hard for a couple of days, but after that, most people start to feel tangible benefits. Doing it helps to restore balance between our mental and emotional nature by reducing nervous system dysregulation that can be triggered by fear and anxiety. News fasting gives our body a chance for some relief and restoration.
Other studies have found that practicing kindness reduces social anxiety and loneliness while promoting a sense of belonging. What’s interesting is that GCI researchers discovered that holding someone in your heart with a feeling of love and kindness shifts heart’s rhythms and creates coherence in the energetic field. More than ever, researchers are coming on board to take love (kindness, care, compassion, etc.) out of the basement. We don’t have to wait for science, as we can each prove the power of our own love — we just have to unleash it. So what is the collective hold up? It requires a little practice to install the habit. We may practice for hours in a row, learning cell phones, computer games, the list, but not where it counts the most for our health and wellbeing.
We’ve talked about tools and practices for years, yet we are putting more emphasis on practice during these times especially, because the stress table has taken a tremendous jump and people are getting more drained by the chaos going on than they may be aware of. Many feel they are losing their grip. Having tools is so important, yet it is the practice of them that generates the love and care that reduces stress points and helps us maintain balance.
We can start by asking our heart where we can increase our kindness with caring words and actions. Where can we extend more warmth and non-judgmental acceptance toward others or toward ourselves, especially during moments of difficulty. Increasing our kindness at times can be as simple as listening with more patience, expressing appreciation, or showing compassionate understanding when someone is struggling or expressing a different viewpoint.
Kindness and compassion are powerful love frequencies that radiate from the heart into the environment and can help calm erratic emotional energies – our own and others. In meditation or prayer or while watching the news we can send kindness to people and situations. Increasing our kindness, respect, and compassion is the secret sauce recipe for moving through waves of planetary chaos and uncertainty with more balance and ease.
This is attainable as we put our heart’s intention into our meaningful practice.
The Earth vibrates to Kindness Researchers have found that one act of kindness often creates a ripple effect – helping the receiver open their heart then wanting to do something kind for others. The heart radiates a magnetic field that enables GCI researchers to measure the impact of heart energy sent to people, animals, or trees. Earth’s geomagnetic field vibrates with magnetic waves at 0.1 Hz – the same frequency as coherent human heart rhythms. This is how heart feelings of kindness, care, and compassion can be amplified by the Earth’s field to help create a viral effect. Even a small amount of practice can reduce and prevent much personal and collective stress. Collective kindness can change the world. It’s up to each of us. It’s time for love to hit the street.
Care Focus: It’s Time for More Kindness
- Center yourself and breathe in love, appreciation and kindness to warm your heart.
- Next, radiate love, kindness, and compassion to yourself and others, then into the Earth’s field environment. Activating these heart frequencies (feelings) more often can increase our intuitive feelings to help guide our next best steps.
- Pause and listen in stillness. Ask your heart where you could be kinder, more caring, empathetic, and patient. Then genuinely commit to that intention, not just with family but in the grocery store, workplace, wherever you are. Practice installing these heart-based attitudes that represent who you really are.
- Now visualize people across the world practicing more kindness, respect, and compassion. Realize how this could increase cooperation between people and nations and magnetize new answers to social and global problems. Opening our hearts to each other is the solution, long awaited.
- Let’s close by radiating love, kindness and compassionate care to all who are enduring hardships. Let your heart direct where to send this care.
