GCMS Sensor Site Built in UK
A small village south of London is home to the newest site in the Global Coherence Monitoring System’s (GCMS) growing network of sensor sites.
The new site is located in Firle, a community of just over 300 people in East Sussex County, about 60 miles south of London. The Firle site is the third of what eventually are planned to be 13 sensor sites to be strategically located on five continents around the planet as part of the Global Coherence Initiative.
Like the other completed sensor sites, in Boulder Creek, Calif., and Hofuf, Saudi Arabia, the one in Firle will collect data related to changes in the earth’s magnetic field so scientists can test the hypothesis that the earth’s electromagnetic field is influenced by mass positive and negative human emotions.
Funding also has been secured for sites in New York and New Zealand, and efforts are under way to raise money for the remaining sites, including in Alaska, Chile and South Korea. Go to Sensor site maps to see all of the proposed sites.
GCMS Sensor Sites
The GCMS sensor sites, also called remote monitoring stations, have state-of-the-art detection and collection technology – high-sensitivity induction coils, preamplifiers, Wi-Fi systems and GPS antennas – that gather a continuous stream of data that scientists analyze for:
- The extent to which there is an energetic resonance between the earth’s magnetic field and the rhythms of human heart and brain activity.
- The influence of the earth’s magnetic field on patterns of human collective behavior.
- The degree to which collective human emotional resonance in response to mass events of common emotional significance is reflected in the activity of the earth’s magnetic field.
Global Coherence Initiative
The GCMS is the technological component of the Global Coherence Initiative, which the nonprofit Institute of HeartMath launched in 2009 to investigate the relationship between the earth’s energetic field environment, collective human emotions, mass behaviors and planetary changes.
The initiative is a science-based project that seeks to bring people together to "shift global consciousness from instability and discord to balance, cooperation and enduring peace."
People from around the world who already sense this great shift is occurring have been coming together as news has spread of GCI’s quest to connect the immense potential of individuals’ positive coherent energy. Today GCI’s membership includes more than 34,000 people of all ages and walks of life. The GCI community’s energetic and financial support and participation in focused care and intention are the life force of this historic venture.
GCI members are seeking to:
- Increase personal coherence for the benefit of ourselves and the planet.
- Help shift the planetary consciousness baseline from self-centeredness to wholeness care.
- Increase connection and social harmony.
- Empower our ability to navigate through global changes with less stress and more ease.
- Empower environmental responsibility and stewardship of the planet.
Global Care Rooms
The virtual Global Care Rooms recently updated and links from the GCI website are bringing a compassionate online global community together on behalf of areas in crisis or need anywhere on Earth. While here individuals and groups create heart coherence, meet in synchronous Heart Coherence Sessions and join Care Focuses to send heart-focused care, compassion and love to places in the midst of crises such as natural disasters, war or famine or other circumstances that warrant special attention.
Among the areas and circumstances that have received the collective attention of GCI members are Japan during the massive earthquake and tsunami; famine-plagued Somalia; New Orleans, which is still recovering from hurricane Katrina; Russia and the state of Texas, both swept by wildfires; the entire earth following the 2008 global financial crisis; and many others.
Many people have commented about the strong feelings of interconnectedness they experience when joining with others in the Care Room. For example: "I felt lifted up by the joining of hearts surrounding the globe at this time. What a wonderful way to join together."

By request, GCI will host special care rooms where organizations or groups can maintain their own identities and personally tailored approaches for adding to collective planetary coherence.
