Heart Bear

A dad in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur recently shared a heartwarming story about his daughter.

Steve Sotera wrote that he received a package in the mail from HeartMath, though he wasn’t expecting anything. It turned out that he had made a contribution during IHM’s recent fund drive to raise money to provide HeartMath educational materials to children around the world.

When he opened the package and saw what was inside, he remembered that everyone who contributed at least $100 would receive a special gift for free. Sotera noted that he’d simply made his donation "and I thought nothing more of it until I went to the post here in Kuala Lumpur to pick up a package, as a notice was left in our box."

The package contained a Heart Bear, the new cuddly, fuzzy bear puppet with the big HeartMath heart on its chest.

Sotera tells the story: "‘The Bear’ arrived last week and I have been wanting to share this with you. When I picked it up at the post and saw the ‘toy’, then I remembered the donation with the toy gift. I figured that I would let Abigail (10 years old) open it and then let her decide to pass it to her little niece, as she has said on more than one occasion that she did not care for soft, stuffed toys.

"Well, when she opened it and saw HeartMath on its chest, she fell in love with it. She plays with it a lot and even sleeps with it. Undoubtedly, her experience with the HM emWave® PC/Mac paved the way for this change of heart (no pun there).

The other night she told me the Bear’s name is HeartMath."

On a final note, Sotera related another detail about Abigail and her Heart Bear: "Yesterday she came home from school with a high fever, went to bed early and slept through the night. Early this morning when I checked in on her, she was squeezing HeartMath in a bear hug."
