Month 1: Review and Remember – Here we present an overview of 12 messages from the Institute of HeartMath Introductory Program. This program includes many of HeartMath’s popular e-booklets, tools, techniques, and suggestions we think you will find useful on your journey of self-discovery.

Month 2: Ease as a Way of Life – At HeartMath, we believe adding ease can make the greatest positive difference in most people’s lives. Those of us who regularly practice adding ease have found it has enriched our lives, helped us see the world more clearly and made life more adventurous. We have an e-book and two webinars – you can download them for free – that will aid you as you begin adding ease to your life. Month 3: Connectivity – Scientific and Practical – The human resonance frequency is about 0.1 hertz. The more time you spend there, the more your body is vibrating at its optimum frequency. Research shows you can optimize your personal, social and planetary connectivity by engaging in positive emotions such as appreciation/gratitude, love and caring. We’ve included – free to members – an e-booklet and special webinar to help you increase your personal connectivity and utilize positive emotions.

Month 4: Coherence Creates Harmony – Initiates and Helps Sustain HarmonyCoherence is one of the most important and beneficial physical, mental and emotional processes your body can experience. When you are in a state of coherence, all of your body’s processes are experiencing a high degree of harmony. "This harmonious order signifies a coherent system whose efficient or optimal function is directly related to the ease and flow in life processes," explains Institute of HeartMath Director of Research Rollin McCraty and HeartMath Founder Doc Childre in their article, Coherence, Bridging Personal, Social and Global Health, which appeared in the July/August issue of the journal, Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine.

Month 5: The Shift Is an Opportunity to Advance – Millions of people sense that we live in an extraordinary time, a time in which a significant shift in human consciousness is under way and we are at the crossroads of change and must move toward healing ourselves and our planet. Each year, an increasing number of people – today there are many millions – including heart-focused individuals and groups, spiritual organizations, online communities and many others are helping shape a more heart-focused world by radiating compassion and care to areas of special need around the world.

Month 6: Nurturing the Hearts of Children Builds a Foundation for Life Success – We all want our own children and children everywhere to be happy, vibrant and loving, and we achieve this through heart-focused guidance. Caring adults in all walks of life around the world are learning new heart-focused skills and giving more children what they need to succeed in this shifting world.

Month 7: Accumulating More Personal Energy by Being More Resilient – Having more energy can make a tremendous difference in your health and quality of life. Scientists at the Institute of HeartMath have been researching energy for many years and have demonstrated that self-regulation of emotions is an excellent method for accumulating more energy.

Month 8: Increasing Memory – Whether you’re a college student studying for an important test or an aging baby boomer concerned about forgetting an appointment, there are techniques everyone can use to optimize memory. IHM Director of Research Rollin McCraty discusses in the webinar, How Practicing Coherence Enhances Cognitive Functions and Helps Offset Cognitive Decline, the latest research related to heart and brain interactions and synchronization relative to increasing memory retention.

Month 9: Developing Your Intuition – Intuition is emerging from a cloud of mystery. Once considered a gift bestowed on only a few, intuition is becoming recognized as a natural skill that anyone can develop. Everyone is born with the capacity for intuition – the ability to know something without knowing how you know. Researchers have conducted numerous controlled studies on intuition for more than half a century and have expanded the definition of intuition to include not only a conscious perception by the mind, but also an unconscious perception by the body’s psychophysiological system.

Month 10: Care and Compassion Regenerate Sender and Receiver – When you truly care for someone and feel sincere compassion, you not only can greatly help the recipient of your care and compassion, you too can reap benefits from these emotions. Your immune system, the body’s complex process of protecting you from illness and disease, is profoundly influenced by your emotions. IHM’s research has shown your emotions, positive or negative, affect your immune system and, ultimately, your health and well-being.

Month 11: Creating More Joy – We all would love more joy in our lives, but many of us have a checklist of things we must do before we can pursue joy: Fix our finances, get in shape, find the perfect mate. Why not commit to creating more joy now. Cross everything off your list and add one proven formula: a sincere heart connection. Here are some simple tools to help you unlock your joyful heart.

Month 12: Fulfillment Through Service – Many people find fulfillment in service to others. It’s a pursuit that can make your heart sing. A natural way to begin is by living from the heart, which possesses an intuitive intelligence that can guide you in discerning the true meaning of service. An excellent tool to aid you in finding fulfillment through service is a personal mission statement. A few key personal questions will help you write it.
