Community Involvement

We have countless tasks that fill our days. Though we intersect with others here and there, much of what we do each day we do alone. When all is done and we gather together in community, it is then that the true color, texture and joy of life emerge. In community, we can accomplish great deeds when we share our experience and envision together.

The Institute of HeartMath cherishes the community of all people and is committed to nurturing it, strengthening it and always finding new ways of giving back.

When the world remained stunned and adversely affected by financial chaos at the end of the new millennium’s first decade, HeartMath founder Doc Childre was compelled by compassion to give something to the community. He responded with the inspired De-Stress Kit for the Changing Times, a heart- and emotion-focused roadmap for navigating not only the great financial crisis, but the many other challenges we all face in today’s world. The Kit, as it has come to be known, by now has traveled the world in several languages, reaching countless thousands with a message of hope and a plea for communication, cooperation and above all, community.

"When people gather together to support each other, the energy of the collective multiplies the benefit to the individual."

De-Stress Kit for the Changing Times, Doc Childre

The HeartMath De-Stress Workshop is a two-hour program, that is given at no charge to community members. They can learn how stress affects them physically and emotionally as well as effective techniques for reducing stress and building the resilience needed to bring more balance and ease into their daily challenges.

We offer training for representatives of nonprofit service organizations that would like to deliver this workshop to their constituents. Learn how your organization can apply for a license to deliver the De-Stress Workshop to the people you serve. Scholarships are available for underresourced organizations through the HeartMath for Communities Project.

Members of the HeartMath community hail from around the world – more than 50 nations – where they present a contrast in language, customs and culture, but they share something that transcends these and other differences – the principles of heart-based living. Their bond is in the potential and intelligence of the human heart, which they know has the capacity to guide us individually and collectively to prevail in the face of our challenges and accomplish great things.

If you would like to connect more deeply with the qualities of the heart, learn simple tools for using positive emotions to transform your life and be a member of a community that cares about each other and our planet, visit the HeartMath Community.

For more than a hundred years, keeping connected with one another was limited to personal contact, the telephone and mail service. Now the possibilities are many, and the fastest-growing method of communication today is the virtual world of online communities. Members and supporters of the HeartMath community can stay connected with each other and the Institute of HeartMath through a number of social network pages the institute maintains for adults and children.

Whether you follow friends on Facebook, tweet on Twitter or frequent YouTube, you will find the institute’s pages on these and other sites. There’s always lots of useful and interesting information related to our research, new discoveries and tools for improved performance and well-being, discussions and stories shared by people just like you. A great shift is occurring in our global consciousness as a growing movement demands a worldwide commitment to social harmony and planetary healing. Relying on the Institute of HeartMath’s many years researching stress, emotions and heart intelligence, we have developed a series of easily learned Tools for Well-Being and Solutions for Stress that can start you on a path toward transforming your mind, body and spirit.
