The HeartMath Mission

HeartMath’s mission is to facilitate a fundamental shift in health, well-being and consciousness. The focus of its triple-bottom-line mission is people, planet and profit.

HeartMath was founded by Doc Childre in 1991 out of a deep care for people and the planet, and a desire to develop effective and scalable methods and technologies to help people self-regulate emotions and behaviors. HeartMath includes the nonprofit Institute of HeartMath, the for-profit HeartMath Inc. (Quantum Intech Inc.) and its operating company HeartMath LLC. Our collective purpose is to create shared value by creating economic value in a way that also creates value for society by addressing its needs and challenges.

We give people the opportunity to share in our mission through investment, licensing, purchasing HeartMath products and services, becoming a member and donating to HeartMath nonprofit initiatives for the underserved. HeartMath LLC gives 5% of revenues to the Institute of HeartMath to bring HeartMath training and technologies to community service organizations, children, teachers, veterans and their families.


About the Institute of HeartMath

The nonprofit Institute of HeartMath cares deeply about the physical, mental and emotional well-being of people young and old, regardless of belief, heritage and circumstance. IHM’s vision is to help people reduce stress, self-regulate emotions and build resilience for healthier, happier lives.

IHM conducts innovative research in stress, coherence, heart-brain interactions and the physiology of optimal performance. The institute is respected in the scientific community for contributions related to positive emotions, heart intelligence and their critical importance in human affairs.

The HeartMath System of tools, technology and programs which have improved hundreds of thousands of lives worldwide stem directly from IHM’s research. IHM sponsors caring initiatives for communities, students, educators, health professionals, military personnel, their families and veterans.
